Can I see the dentist I choose?

NHS policy states that if you are a regular attending NHS patient of The Walden Dental Clinic, you are entitled to NHS treatment with a NHS dentist. We endeavour to try and keep patients with their regular dentist but there will be times where this is not possible. Unfortunately, patients are not registered to an individual dentist but to the practice and so they are not entitled to choose who they see. Please note that we will ensure you are seen by a NHS dentist

Please note the following regarding some of our dentists

Dr. Frederick Fernando does not accept any new NHS patients and all new patients that wish to join his list will be on a private basis. If the patient has not been a regular attender of Dr. Frederick Fernando in the last two years they will automatically switched to another NHS dentist unless they wish to see him privately.

Dr. Mital Patel does not accept any new NHS patients and all new patients that wish to join his list will be on a private basis. If the patient has not been a regular attender of Dr. Patel in the last two years they will automatically switched to another NHS dentist unless they wish to see him privately.

Dr. Suren Fernando does not accept any new NHS patients and all new patients that wish to join his list will be on a private basis. If the patient has not been a regular attender of Dr. Suren Fernando in the last two years they will automatically switched to another NHS dentist unless they wish to see him privately.

Dr. David Wilkinson has now cut his days from four to two days. He is now only seeing private and denplan patients. His NHS will be allocated to see other NHS dentists as he cuts down his list in preparation for retirement, otherwise the waiting list to see him even for a check up can be over 3 months. All NHS patients who have not seen him regularly in the last year will be allocated another NHS dentist unless they wish to see him privately.
