Archiving Policy as a NHS Patient

Please note that in order to provide an effective NHS dental service in a location with finite funding, we give priority to our regular attenders.

If you have not attended the practice for a routine dental examination in the two years. You will automatically be removed from our NHS list. You will have to re-register as a new patient if and when spaces become available. If you wish to be seen sooner or you have been archived you will have to register as a New Private Patient.

It is recommended you come in every 3,6,9 or 12 months for a dental examination. A check-up allows your dentist to see if you have any dental problems and helps you keep your mouth healthy. Leaving problems untreated could make them more difficult to treat in the future, so it’s best to deal with problems early, or, if possible, prevent them altogether.

Please note that unlike a GP practice, we have finite places for NHS patients and you are not ‘Registered for life’. This is why is it important to attend regular dental examinations to both look after your oral health and to keep your NHS place.

Please also remember that it is not our responsibility as a busy practice to have to remind you to book your appointment or to attend your appointment.
